Wasatch Elementary School

Summary

Meridian Engineering is excited to have played a role in the development of the new Wasatch Elementary School, a state-of-the-art replacement school designed by FFKR Architects for Provo School District and constructed by Hogan Construction. Serving 600 students, this modern facility fosters academic excellence with comfortable learning spaces.

Located on a former BYU property at Locust Lane in Provo, the site presented unique challenges with a sloped site that Meridian Engineering addressed through expert surveying and civil site design.
Our contributions included:

  • Survey services for design development
  • Site grading and drainage plans to accommodate the sloped terrain
  • Retaining walls for structural stability
  • Parking, bus, and parent drop-off zones for seamless traffic flow
  • Playground and playfield design to enhance student recreation
  • Sidewalk, curb, and gutter improvements for accessibility and safety
  • Utility tie-ins to the city’s water, sewer, and irrigation systems
  • Stormwater retention and erosion control measures for long-term sustainability

Congratulations to the Provo community on this incredible new school!
