The Gail Miller Homeless Resource Center

Summary

The Gail Miller Homeless Resource Center provides comprehensive services to both men and women experiencing homelessness. Operated by the Road Home, this facility is located downtown Salt Lake City at 242 West Paramount Avenue. The 62,700 square feet shelter serves a community of up to 200 displaced folks each night with a dormitory style bedroom, food, medical care, and support services such as counseling, job training and legal services to help each individual regain independence. The facility is named after philanthropist Gail Miller, who donated $10 million towards its construction.

As part of ajc architects design team, Meridian provided civil engineering for drainage and accessible grading plans, utility plans including water and sewer, and site hydraulic analysis along with design for several on-site storm water retention basins naturally designed like creek beds. Construction period services and storm water pollution prevention plans were also included in the civil design scope.
