The Utah Council of Land Surveyors (UCLS) Conference took place on February 19-21, 2025, at the Dixie Center in St. George, Utah. This year’s theme, “Mapping the Future: Lessons from the Past, Tools of Tomorrow,” brought together 300+ professional land surveyors, including a record-breaking 16 professionals and technicians from Meridian Engineering! The event provided valuable insights into industry best practices, legislative updates, and cutting-edge technology shaping the future of land surveying.
One of the conference’s biggest highlights was the swearing-in of Meridian’s President, Darryl Fenn, PLS, as the 2025/2026 UCLS Chairman. Throughout his career, Darryl has demonstrated outstanding leadership and dedication to the profession, serving as Salt Lake Chapter President in 1992, UCLS Chairman in 1993, Utah Director to the Western Federation of Professional Surveyors (WFPS), and chairing multiple UCLS committees. He also helped write the original curriculum for Salt Lake Community College’s surveying program and played a key role in shaping Utah’s continuing education and recordation laws. His contributions reflect not only his deep expertise and his passion for advancing the field of land surveying.
Meridian is honored to have wise and resilient leadership of the firm and look forward to Darryl’s success as Chairman of the UCLS over the next year!
